I became an Asian hair and makeup artist because I genuinely, stubbornly believed the industry could do better. Not arrogantly - just honestly. I'd watched too many clients arrive at their most important moments, handed over to artists who were technically fine but emotionally nowhere to be found. Artistry isn't just technique. It's presence, care, and an almost obsessive attention to what each client actually needs
Twenty years on, The Make-Up Box remains the only thing of its kind in the UK: a fully equipped luxury mobile studio that shows up wherever the moment calls for it. Bridal makeup, editorial shoots, corporate launches, private clients: the studio arrives, and everything else falls away. I built it so my clients could feel extraordinary in their own space, on their own terms, no compromise.
